Tommy Sugiarto showed his best performance


The 5th seed, Tommy Sugiarto back to back showed his best performance. It was proven at the 2011 HWASUN VICTOR Korea Grand Prix Gold on Thursday.

At the match which played at afternoon, world number 19 Tomy Sugiarto succeed to defeat Taiwan’s Jen Hao Hsu, 21-11 15-21 21-14 in last one hour 5 minutes.

At the last eight, Tommy Sugiarto will face the favourite Lee Hyun Ill, who defeated Ye Wook Rho 21-12 21-7 which held in the second session.

In the first set, Tommy Sugiarto showed his class as a rising shuttlers. He took the first game easily, 21-11.

Tommy was in trouble in the second game where he trailed. Jen Hao Hsu began to fight back by dominating the game. Several times Tommy Sugiarto could not anticipate opponent’s smash. Almost all of this second round, Jen Hao Hsu didn’t give the Indonesian a chance to set it up the game. Tommy suffering a 15-21.

Unfortunately in the last game Tommy Sugiarto clinched the win with a 21-14 win.

Tommy Sugiarto defeat marked as the only Indonesian mens single representative in quarter-finals after Bronze Olympic medal, Sony Dwi Kuncoro dan his compatriot Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka  failed at the sime time.

Meanwhile, Hong Ji Hooon mark a history for his carrier on badminton, while he surprisingly beat the fourth seed from Chinese, Wang Zhengming. Zhengmin stretched un-seeds Hong Ji Hooon of South Korea to three games before suffering a 21-19 18-21 15-21 defeat in one hour 27 minutes.
